Hymn 34

1. God gave to us this day of days
   on which we sing our songs of praise,
   for Jesus lives! Let us rejoice
   and give him thanks as with one voice. Alleluia!
   
   
2. His body unto death he gave
   and then was buried in the grave,
   but rose again victoriously
   and freed us from all slavery. Alleluia!
   
   
3. The gloomy darkness, sin, and death
   are conquered, as the Scripture says,
   by Jesus Christ, the risen LORD;
   who brought back light, and life restored. Alleluia!
   
   
4. Come, let us all rejoice and sing,
   for death has lost its bitter sting,
   thanks to the LORD, the sacrificed
   and resurrected Jesus Christ. Alleluia!
